Quick Update....I got a new post and moved house so have been settling in for the last few months and things like this blog have gone by the way side, But I am back now and will endeavour to keep this much more up to date.
More lengthy update!!!... Leaving: I left my post as Curate in West Grimsby about 4 months ago now and it was very emotional and they gave me a wonderful send off.
Starting: At the end of May I became Team Vicar in the Parish of Brereton and Rugeley, with particular responsibility for St.Michael's Church Brereton and the Church of the Good Shepherd, on the Pear Tree estate in Rugeley. We have 5 Churches in total in the Parish. It's a beautiful area of the country Staffordshire. You can see Cannock Chase from my bedroom, and it's not that far from Birmingham for when I want to be somewhere busier. Anyway, the people here gave me a wonderful welcome, and we've been up to all sorts over the summer, from experiencing my first Scarecrow Festival, to having cold wet sponges thrown at me during a fete, and from opening the Brereton carnival, to getting mud and flour thrown at me while I took part in a raft race...yes we won!!!!!!!
Festivals! - I also went for a couple of days to Bloodstock heavy metal festival again to work in the Welfare Tent. And this year I also went to Greenbelt Christian festival for a couple of days to compère one of the stages, and to assist with an event we put on in the youth tent, called Heavy Metal Hymns. Both festivals went well.
WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I also got engaged towards the end of June and we have planned a music festival themed wedding for the start of October.
