Meat Loaf and Rainbow

I feel I should give up meat for Lent too, so am. And am also taking up wearing a rainbow wristband (which I've ordered today) to show my support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual people -But there will be much more about this in my next post, so stay tuned lol !  And as we're so near the start of Lent, I can still manage to do both for 40 days :) ...not that I will be limiting myself to just that with regards the wristband though.

Re-mix and Repent...

My day started with my usual Ash Wednesday goings on...Morning Prayer service with colleagues, followed by coming back home and setting on fire and burning last years Palm Crosses while having a cuppa, and then mixing with oil ready for the Ash Wednesday service...mixing oil with the ashes, not with my cuppa, by the way!!!

Oh and it went well this year folks..as some of you will know that last year I ended up setting my kitchen on fire....apparently it wasn't a good idea after all to set fire to things in a plastic container on top of my wooden kitchen table...who knew?!...The best bit was Ian contacting me half way through, and me replying 'Hang on, my kitchen's on fire!!!'

No photo's of the fire and burning this time...but here's the after service end results, in what I am going to label as a 'Christian selfie'...it's going to be a thing, I can feel it!!!

Christian Selfie!!!

Food for the brain...

Today I had pancakes, like many others....I had one with Galaxy chocolate down the middle and at one end put chunks of pear in as well and at the other end put slices of banana yummmmmmm...then I had a smaller one with maple syrup, and then I had another the best way there is with sugar and oranges squeezed on top yummmmmmm.......
Question 1: How do you eat yours??!

Tomorrow, obviously is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent.....during Lent this year I will be sticking to my recent tradition over the past couple/few years now of giving up cake, biscuits, chocolate bars and alcohol, and taking up praying and reading the Bible more (which obviously I do the last 2 several times a day anyways, but there's always time for more isn't there!) for the 40 days of Lent, so 6 days a week out of 7 from tomorrow until Easter...I know I shouldn't tell you this as Jesus tells us we're not meant to bang on about what we do or don't do religiously (Matthew 6 folks), but I am telling you so that you don't offer me any biscuits for the next couple of months..thank you! haha :)
Question 2: What are you doing for Lent 2014??!

Come Out and Play

We're doing a panto at St.Michael's Church on Friday at 6:00pm....Oh no we're not!....OH YES WE ARE!!!

Come along if you fancy a laugh and the chance to see members of St.Michael's congregation and the Parish Youth Group as you've never seen them before....trust me, if you want to laugh at us making a fool of ourselves in all sorts of ways, myself by being covered in green face-paints(!!!)...then come along!
It's only £1.50 and you get some refreshments at the interval too. There's loads of tickets left, so please come along and support us as we raise some money for our Youth Group :-D
